Translator: Mahāsaṅgīti Tipiṭaka Buddhavasse 2500

“Yathāpi kītā purisassupāhanā,

Sukhassa atthāya dukhaṁ udabbahe;

Ghammābhitattā thalasā papīḷitā,

Tasseva pāde purisassa khādare.

Evameva yo dukkulīno anariyo,

Tammāka vijjañca sutañca ādiya;

Tameva so tattha sutena khādati,

Anariyo vuccati dupāhanūpamo”ti.
